This video will discuss a feature available for the first time on any Honda—the driver-assistive Road Departure Mitigation System*. It helps to ensure the Pilot only leaves the pavement when you want it to. If your vehicle drifts too close to detected lane markings while driving between 45 and 90 miles per hour without a turn signal activated, the system alerts you with a visual lane-departure warning in the Multi-Information Display (MID), and applies steering torque to help keep the vehicle in the detected lane when you start to cross over the lane line or road edge. And if the system determines that steering input is insufficient to keep the vehicle on the roadway, it may apply braking to help keep it from departing.
*Road Departure Mitigation only alerts drivers when lane drift is detected without a turn signal in use and can apply mild steering torque to assist the driver in maintaining proper lane position and/or brake pressure to slow the vehicle’s departure from a detected lane. Road Departure Mitigation may not detect all lane markings or lane departures; accuracy will vary based on weather, speed and road condition. System operation affected by extreme interior heat.
