East Liberty Ohio Plant Tour Impressions

I've been with Honda 10 years now and I have never been on a tour until Tuesday, when six of us from College Hills took the early morning trip down to the East Liberty Plant in Ohio. It is truly amazing walking on to the assembly floor and seeing the maze of machines moving vehicles and various other items from one place to another, AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles) picking up and delivering parts, and hard working employees moving at a smooth yet very fast assembly pace.

Both Civic and Element vehicles were being produced that day. Since the morning shift started (7:30am), 216 vehicles rolled of the line by the time we stepped on the floor at around 10:00 am! Although we did not get to see the entire plant due to 2007 CR-V trials, it was quite the experience. I would like to schedule a tour for interested customers at some point in the future, however I want to make sure a trip can be arranged around a time when all areas of the plant will be open. The tour guide stated that this happens around 3 months out of the entire year. I will post more information if we decide to arrange a tour at either the East Liberty or Marysville locations. If you are a long time owner I'm sure you would appreciate seeing the magic of one of these manufacturing plants first hand.
