Honda Odyssey All Season Floor Mats Q&A

First of all let me say that we are upset and disappointed that there has been so much confusion over the 2006 Odyssey All Season Floor Mats.  We've been receiving phone calls and emails stating that Honda Dealers, online accessory stores and Honda Corporate are stating that the 06 mats will not fit 2005 models.  Maybe they should have tried them first!  Hopefully the person or persons who created all this confusion read this article.

YOUR QUESTIONS:

Q:  "Do the 2006 Odyssey All Season Mats fit in the 2005 models?"

A:  YES!  The only obvious differences for 2006 are the addition of the 3rd row mat and the new Taupe color which were both not available in 2005.  At the bottom of this page you will find pictures that we took in a 2005 Touring.  Notice the installation of the Black 2005 mats as well as the new 2006 mats installed in the same vehicle.  The cut, the snaps, and the fit are identical.

Q:  "Will the 2005 mats fit in a 2006?"

A:  YES!  If you don't have the need for the 3rd row mat and want black the old 2005 mats are a great option and will save you a little money in the process.  To this point we have not heard whether or not Honda will phase out and discontinue the 2005 part number.

Q:  "Honda's description states that the mats have lips or ridges to keep debris from spilling over on to the carpet.  Is this true because I don't see it?

A:  YES AND NO.  Honda's actual description word for word is as follows;

"All Season Floor Mats provide superior protection for the Odyssey's floor carpeting.

• Tough rubber material for long life span.
• Easily cleaned with mild soap and water.
• Functional design with ridges that trap dirt, sand, mud and water.
• Floor mat pattern that matches the Cargo Tray and Cargo Mat.
• Custom appearance with molded logo."

Although yes the mats do have "ridges" the lip on the outer edge of the mat is not tall enough to hold back large amounts of debris or water.  The "ridges" on the mats are designed to help keep small amounts of debris and water from making their way on to your carpet.  They are not made to hold a river of water.

Q:  "I currently have the black 2005 mats.  Will a 3rd row mat be made available separately?"

A:  A 3rd row mat is now officially available from Honda as of 11/03/05.

Q:  "What do you mean when you say the Taupe mats complement the interior?"

A:  The taupe mats along with many of the other taupe accessories for other Honda models do not match the interiors exactly.  The Ivory interiors of the Odyssey have more than just one single shade of Taupe/Ivory.  The mats are to complement the interior colors and not exactly match the floor carpeting or seat fabric/leather.  Example: Picture 1  | Picture 2
